CREATION Health Center offers cooking classes to the community
The Yum Yum Club spices up healthy cooking
TAVARES, Fla. (June 18, 2013) – Hoping to inspire confidence in the kitchen, Florida Hospital Waterman’s CREATION Health team created the Yum Yum Club, a series of cooking classes for the community. All are welcome to attend the classes, which will provide hands-on cooking demonstrations led by a professional chef and registered dietitian, Stephanie Bassett, RD. Starting June 25 the classes will take place the last Tuesday of every month from June through September.
“Eating healthy is important to maintaining overall wellness,” said Candace Huber, RN, BSN, MPH, Community Health Transformation Specialist for Florida Hospital Waterman’s CREATION Health Center. “We developed the Yum Yum Club to show the community they have the ability to cook healthy, tasty meals.”
Covering the basics of a well-balanced meal, every class will have a different focus; soups, salads, entrées and desserts, and will provide six easy-to-follow recipes for each topic. Each class costs $30 per adult, or $100 for all four. In addition to professional cooking instruction, participants will receive cooking utensils, food-tasting, and recipes. Utilizing the Conry CREATION Health Center Demonstration Kitchen, classes will take place on June 25, July 30, August 27, and September 24 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Space is limited and registration is required. Contact Candace Huber at 352-253-3685 to register.
