Florida Hospital Waterman Announces Plans for
The Donald and Audrey Conry Creation Health Center
Tavares, FL: Florida Hospital Waterman announces plans to construct the Donald and Audrey Conry Creation Health Center, to include a demonstration kitchen, lecture hall and fitness center.
The Living Well Demonstration Kitchen and Conference Rooms, to be built on the west side of the rotunda in the hospital atrium, will host lifestyle programs for the community to combat childhood obesity, smoking, heart disease, diabetes, and other pernicious diseases. “It is our desire to help our community manage any disease process they may have, and also to prevent disease by following guidelines to protect the precious gift of good health,” says Ken Mattison, president and CEO.
Also included in the project, a state-of-the-art Healthy Life Fitness Center is planned for the east side of the atrium rotunda, and will be available free of charge to all hospital employees, auxilians, physicians and board members.
The Center is funded by a $1.9 million legacy left to the Florida Hospital Waterman Foundation by Mr. Donald Conry, which was designated for spiritual emphasis within the hospital. “We thank God for this generous gift and believe it will be benefit those who will work to improve their own lives,” says Mr. Mattison.
Construction will begin during the first quarter of 2012, and the Center will be operational by the end of the year.
