Advanced Simulation Training for Waterman Employees

Tavares, FL:  Florida Hospital Waterman (FHW) recently acquired SimMan 3G ® advanced and valued training technology for health care professionals. SimMan is a realistic, full size adult, wireless patient simulator that provides greater realism for an enhanced learning experience. An instructor facilitated  program requires clinicians to treat SimMan’s  human responses such as changes in blood pressure, coughing or changes in heart rhythms. This methodology has positive results in improving patient safety and quality of care.

“It is very exciting to be incorporating SimMan into our employee education and training,” said Cheryl Thaler, RN and Director of Medical, Surgical and Special Services at Waterman. “This equipment aided our staff in learning about patient scenarios in a more realistic situation instead of just reading about cases in a textbook or by watching a video.”

If you would like to get a firsthand look at Sim Man, fittingly named Walter Waterman, please stop by the FHW Garden Lobby and Education Simulation Lab on Wed July 25th for 8am-9pm. For more information please call 352-253-3544.
