Interventional Radiology (IR)

Interventional Radiology is a minimally invasive (skin puncturing) procedure using image guidance.  Different types of imaging may be used by the Radiologist to guide needles or other small instruments to areas of interest in the body.

At Florida Hospital Waterman, procedures performed in our state-of-the-art Interventional Lab include angiography, angioplasty/stent, drain insertions, uterine embolization, and kyphoplasty procedures.

CT, MRI, Mammography, Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging perform interventional procedures such as biopsies of bone and/or tissue, drainage of fluids, and collection of specimens for evaluation by pathologists to detect disease and/or cancers.
