Florida Hospital Waterman!

Florida Hospital Waterman was founded in 1938 as a legacy of Frank Waterman, president of the Waterman Fountain Pen Company.  Today Florida Hospital Waterman is a 204-bed, state-of-the-art acute care hospital in Lake County, just north of Orlando in the community of Tavares.  Serving the northern Lake County area for more than 65 years, Florida Hospital Waterman became a part of the Adventist Health System in 1992.

To better serve our community, the Florida Hospital Waterman Medical Plaza in Tavares was completed in 1997.  That same location is now the new home of Florida Hospital Waterman.

Florida Hospital Waterman is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).  Formed in 1951, the JCAHO is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation’s health care through voluntary accreditation.  Florida Hospital Waterman is focused on the challenging goal of continuously raising its quality standards to higher levels, and is proud of its JCAHO accreditation as evidence of an organization-wide commitment to provide quality care on an ongoing basis.

From Ambulatory Surgery to Wound Care, Florida Hospital Waterman's professional team offers an array of services and specialties combined with the latest in medical technology.  Extensive home care services are designed to accommodate the needs of in-home patients through nursing care, home medical equipment and non-emergency transportation.  And Florida Hospital Waterman is a health information resource to the community, offering a variety of support groups and education programs.   

We continue our commitment to a healthier community, and that commitment is an important part of our Mission Statement.  We take that responsibility seriously and have pledged staff, time, and resources to achieving that goal.

General                           10:00 am - 8:00 pm
Women and Children          8:00 am - 8:00 pm
Critical Care Unit              11:00 am - 2:00 pm, 4:00 - 6:00 pm, 8:00 - 9:00 pm

• We ask that you limit the number of visitors to two per patient.  Special arrangements can be made with your loved one's nurse for additional accommodations.
• You may be asked to step out of the patient room while your loved one is being examined by the physician and/or undergoing treatment.
• If you have a cold or think you are contagious, we ask that you plan your visit to the hospital when you are feeling better.
• Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• Patients who wish to limit visits may alert their caregiver.
