Jeff Miller, Most Valuable Professional Award Nominee

Our own Jeff Miller has been nominated by Dan Spivey, CEO of Frontline, for the second annual national "Most Valuable Professional" issue of EndoNurse. "Jeff Miller is an amazing nurse," Dan says. "He directs a staff of 18 GI doctors, nurses and technicians through some 650 cases a month like a true professional. Jeff and his staff operate in a seemingly stress-free environment where the staff sincerely enjoys being there."

In the past year, Jeff has worked closely with multiple departments to expand services in endoscopy and enlarge the staff lounge to provide comfort and create an area that is more conducive for learning, says co-worker Sarah Moulden. Patients have often called back saying that they "loved their visit" and "had a good time" terms not often affiliated with colonoscopy and other GI procedures. "I attribute this to the great staff that Jeff supervises," Sarah says. "Jeff helps out at the community health clinic whenever needed and helps the docs with the yearly physicals at the high school. Jeff has been Santa Claus for as many years as I can remember at FHW."

Finally, she says, "Jeff never fails to acknowledge staff when a job is well done, as well as correcting staff when action is indicated. Jeff is one of the most dedicated, hardworking nurses I have had the pleasure of knowing and I can honestly say the patients always come first in the endoscopy unit."

Show your support of Jeff by casting your vote at www.endonurse.com (see "click here to vote for your favorite MVP" in the upper right corner of the web page). You must use an out-of-network PC (eg., your home computer) to do so, and votes are being accepted until July 1.

Congratulations Jeff!
