With the special needs of vascular patients in mind, the Vascular Center of Excellence at Florida Hospital Waterman is a comprehensive care program under the medical direction of David Bjerken, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Diseases of the vascular system affect the flow of blood in arteries and veins throughout the body, causing everything from leg pain to stroke.  While vascular disease is common, it can also be very serious.

Vascular disease includes diseases of the aorta, the largest artery which delivers blood from the heart to the rest of the body (such as Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm) and diseases of the arteries (such as peripheral artery disease).
