Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care at Florida Hospital Waterman offers the continuing ministry of Jesus Christ to each person according to his or her faith system, with recognition of and respect of personal beliefs.  To achieve superior health care, we are devoted to promoting the spiritual wellness of our patients, employees, medical staff, and community.

Pastoral Care focuses on the spiritual aspects of a person. It is non-sectarian and seeks to assist the individual to identify his/her own spiritual strengths to deal with the situation at hand.  A large number of our patients and their families are not active in a local church. These are encouraged to develop a relationship with the church of their preference. We will be happy to contact a minister, priest, rabbi, or spiritual advisor of your choice. If you would like to contact the Pastoral Care Department at Florida Hospital Waterman please call 352.253-3389.

Ministry of the Chaplain

The Chaplain is a minister who specializes in the spiritual care of patients, their families and employees by providing spiritual guidance and emotional support. In times of crises, the chaplain’s services are especially needed and helpful.

Chaplains are available daily: for prayer, to listen, to be a friend, for spiritual guidance, to discuss any problem.
