Surgical Services

In keeping with the patient-friendly atmosphere at Florida Hospital Waterman, a pre-admission testing area is designated just off the main lobby.  In this one convenient location, patients receive lab work, EKGs and anesthesia interviews prior to surgery.

The surgical suites at Florida Hospital Waterman are designed to incorporate the latest medical technology and optimal patient care by centrally locating all services related to outpatient and surgical procedures.  Among a total of nine surgical suites, two suites are equipped with state-of-the-art laminar air flow for orthopedic procedures, and two are equipped with laparoscopic equipment for minimally invasive surgery.  One suite is equipped with an image-guided system for ENT procedures.  An additional two surgical suites have been modeled for future open heart procedures.

The post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), or recovery room, has 22 patient beds including post anesthesia and cardiovascular imaging lab recovery.  Each patient bed has full invasive line, CO2 and non-invasive monitoring, and all monitoring equipment meets the highest industry standards.
